08 July, 2013 Seattle

Perfect morning, we ere told we brought the wonderful weather with us, it is a gorgeous morning,
We started the day by going to the wonderful Pike Street Market, what a feast for the eyes!

Wonderful Flowers everywhere, spectacular fruit, especially the cherries, peaches and vegetables.

They love making up all kinds of signs, they all make one smile.

I have never seen so many bunches of sweet peas, they smelled heavenly.

Experienced the famous fish throwing, basically when a customer would purchase a fish then all the people that worked for the fish company would together call out the fish that was sold , they would throw it to another person who would weigh it and package it .

We went by the absolutely packed first ever Starbuck coffee shop, and then watched the  famous Beecher cheese being made, purchased a delicious grilled cheese and Turkey sandwich for our up coming cruise on Puget Sound that traveled through the locks by being raised 18 feet into Lake Union!

The view of the city from the boat was wonderful, a clear warm sun drenched day.

So here we are inside the canal where the doors of the Lock were closing in order for the chamber to fill up with the fresh water of Lake Union, in order to raise our boat 18feet above sea level of Puget Sound and be able to sail forward into the lake.

Here we are on our way up and out of the Lock.
This is a House boat being constructed, they cost at least $600.000.
Some other house boats, each one with it's own character and small garden container garden space.

What a trip, marvelous scenery,  admired the lovely house boats as well as floating houses.
Including the house boat from "Sleepless in Seattle" Which you see on the right!

The vistas of the city were wonderful as well as life at all the shores we passed.

Our evening was spent overlooking the lovely harbor and it's calm waters reflecting the sailboats
and twilight of the early evening, while at dinner with a delightful friend.
