July 06, 201 Vancouver.

July 06, 2013.

Our last day in this city of glass, overlooking the beautiful tall mountains, blue sky and
so so very pleasant people.

Hard to continue with our bucket list of things to do and see for such few hours!

We did visit the Vancouver Art Gallery, it turned out to be a very interesting morning with
riveting exhibits.

Actually in one of them there was a very appropriate item considering our Road Trip, not sure if it can
be read on this blog:

I just thought this room was a perfect background for Ron!

Once we walked outside, we admired the city which was washed by the bright sunshine and the city
had closed some of the major streets (they do this on weekends) making the area pedestrian, placing
umbrellas and benches for people to be able to eat, talk and relax outside. There were
food vendors providing all anyone would need for a light lunch.

Artist were displaying their work , characters dressed in a very colorful way were strolling and
proudly displayed their style of that day!

After lunch we drove around the 6 mile road that included the entire Stanley Park along
the sound, which was filled with the beautiful trees, gardens, a Totem Garden we had not seen before a number of beach areas, lawns all the way into the the sea where people were picnicking and relaxing, the most wonderful children's playgrounds.
The bikers and rollerbladers were zooming along.

Still we were amazed at the number of hrees that have been planted on the roofs or balconies of the apartment buildings, overlooking the water.

We also went to a Japanese garden that we discovered on route a few miles away from the downtown area,  we noticed that in the suburbs, the fences of the majority of the houses were mostly
green instead of wood, stone or brick walls.
There is something to be said how much people here enjoy everything green.
